see how we can help you answer any questions in regards to hiring a motorhome

General

Why should I hire motorhome and not buy

Hiring one of our motorhomes provides you the freedom, to be the Master of your own Holidays. Wanting to explore a particular area, need somewhere to stay when visiting family or friends? Want to go to a festival, or sporting event? A motorhome fits the bill for all of these types of time away from home.

If you are considering buying a motorhome – hiring one of our motorhomes is an affordable way to test whether or not motorhoming is for you.

Do you provide insurance?

The cost of insurance is included within the price of the motorhome for the booking period. As long as you are between 25 and 75, with a clean driving licence, which has been held for over two years, then there are no additional charges. Younger than 25, or older than 75, have six points or more on your licence? – You can still hire one of our motorhomes, we just need to take some additional details and a small additional fee.

Do I need a special driving licence?

Each of our motorhomes can be driven under a current driving licence. – As the motorhomes weigh less than £3,500kgs, you do not need to hold the B+E part of the licence.

What ID do I need?

Prior to the booking, we will require your driving licence number, so that we can complete an on-line licence check.

On the day of collection, we will also take copies of your photo card driving licence and two forms of proof of address. These can be utility bills, TV/Internet Bill, Bank or Credit Card Statement, Mortgage Statement, or Council Tax Bill. These must be dated within 90 days of the hire.

How difficult is it to drive a motorhome?

It is really straight forward to drive a motorhome. – Point it in the direction you want to go, and it drives just like a big car, just remember that it is high (for bridges and barriers) and long (when reversing and going around corners with barriers, or bollards)

Where do I leave my car for the duration of the hire?

We provide secure parking for the period of the hire of the motorhome.  We will ask for the registration number of your car as part of the confirmation of your booking process.

Do you allow smoking?

Just like in modern hotels, restaurants and other public places, we do not allow smoking in our motorhomes.  This includes Vaping.

Is there information to help us plan our trip?

We have put together a number of ‘places to go’ tours, which provides you with campsite details, and places of interest to visit. This is not exhaustive, the beauty of hiring one of our motorhomes is that you can go anywhere within the UK, with no restriction on mileage, as long as you return the motorhome within the agreed timescales.  If there is somewhere in particular you would like to go, and this is not covered by one of our tours, let us know and we can help you plan your trip.

When can I collect the motorhome and when do I have to return it?

Bookings can be made from any day, to any day, with the exception of Tuesdays & Sundays. Collection time is from 2.30pm, to 4pm, on the day of handover. All motorhomes have to be returned between 8.30am and 10am on the day of return.

Does the motorhome include a tank of fuel?

All of our motorhomes have a full tank at the start of the hire period and we ask that you return it with a full tank.  A petrol station is available within 3 miles of the site.

How do I keep the motorhome clean?

Cleaning materials are included in the Standard Plus and Luxury Packs. Please bring your own, if you opt for the Standard pack. The motorhome will be cleaned for the start of your hire and we ask that it is returned in the same condition.

Where Can I Go With The Motorhome?

Travel outside of the UK is not permitted. Motorhomes must stay at a registered campsite. It is not permitted to stay over night on private land or laybys.

What pets do you accept when hiring a motorhome?

We are 100% dog friendly and welcome up to two dogs to stay in our motorhome. There is no extra charge, we just ask that you take care of our motorhome and protect the furniture from muddy footprints! If you have any other pets that you would like to include in your time away, please ask us for more information.

What are the three motorhome packs that you provide?

We charge a flat fee for each of our motorhomes and each one comes with a standard pack of equipment that you will need for your time away. These are the essentials for going away in a motorhome, such as water and waste containers, battery and gas bottle. (For the full list please visit our Motorhomes to hire page)

The next pack is the standard plus, which includes the standard pack, plus extra items that makes your time away a bit more comfortable, without having to bring everything with you from home.

The Luxury pack turns the motorhome into a boutique hotel, as it includes bedding, towels and toiletries, as well as a BBQ and outside furniture.

Can I tow a small car behind my motorhome?

The motorhomes are not fitted with a tow-bar, to reduce weight and ensure that they remain within the 3,500kg limit, meaning that anyone with a full UK driving licence can drive them.

What type of motorhome shall I have?

We would always say, think about how you are going to use it. Do you want a fixed bed, (which means that you don’t have to change it from a seating area, to a bed) – or is there 6 of you and you need a layout to suit everyone.  Have a look at each of the specifications of our motorhomes, there is a daytime and night time drawing, so you can see how it works. – If you’re not sure, feel free to ask, as we’re always happy to help. *Hyperlink to the specs*

Payments

How can I pay?

Our insurance policy requires that all payments are 100% traceable, which means that we cannot accept cash.  We can accept payment by card, PayPal, or bank transfer.

Do you need a deposit, or full payment on booking?

We ask for a 20% deposit at the time of booking (if it is four weeks before the planned hire). The balance is due four weeks before the collection date.  A bond is due to be paid on collection of the motorhome. This is held until the motorhome has been returned and inspected.  The bond is refunded within a week, after the return of the motorhome, if no damage has been caused to the motorhome.  The bond is £1,000 regardless of the period of hire.

Do you provide a payment plan?

The balance of your account, for the hire of the motorhome can be paid in instalments that suit you, as long as the balance is paid by the cut off date, of four weeks before the hire is due to commence.
